MISSION and VISION
Our vision is rooted in the Mission Statement of the Marine Corps League.
It is the Mission that drives us.
The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Chaplains who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.
The vision of the McLemore Detachment is to embrace the ideals of the Marine Corps League and focus on our members, our community and improving our purpose to serve. Simply put, Marines helping Marines. Our reach and impact increases with every new member and every supportive donor. The comradery and common connection to the Marine Corps ensures our purpose and success.
HONOR · ASSIST · EDUCATE
Honor comes in many forms. The honor of being a Marine is instilled in us all. Our DNA was altered when we became Marines. Today we honor the past through ceremonies and memorials annually; Iwo Jima, Okinawa, the War on Terror. Best of all, we honor the fallen. We provide funeral honors to fallen Marines, FMF Corpsmen and FMF Chaplains. This is our greatest honor of all.
Assistance also comes in many forms. There are many organizations that assist veterans. We bridge the gap between treatment specific and immediate need. That gap may require cash, transportation or knowledge. Sometimes it is simply a Marine giving guidance to another Marine. We cannot control disaster, but we can help mitigate the effects.
To Educate is to pass the word. We educate the public my participating in community events and ceremonies. We educate Marines in need by introducing them to agencies that can help them the most. We educate JROTC cadets through Marine Corps history classes in high schools. We educate our members to all of the opportunities we have to better serve the Marine community.
